Welcome! I am the Director of the X-Ray Facility at Kasha Laboratory (Photos), Institute of Molecular Biophysics. My official designation is Research Associate (12 month non-tenured faculty) at Florida State University, Tallahassee, FL 32306-4380. I have been associated with the X-Ray Facility since its inception and with FSU since 1993.

I am [aka Soma] responsible for the day to day operation of the Facility including teaching processing, and interpret macromolecular x-ray diffraction data. I maintain XRF InstrumentsComputers and Website. I serve as a safety liasion for Kasha Lab and coordinate with FSU Safety Office.

I am a co-author on several peer-reviewed publications (list). During summer I work with the Department of Biological Science's out-reach initiative Young Scholars Program. I facilitate data collection at SER-CAT beamline in Advanced Photon Source at the Argonne National Lab. I am a member of the American Crystallographic Society and Biophysical Society. Since 2006, I co-maintain the IMB Website. Between July 2010 and August 2012, I helped people use the Titan Krios Transmission Electron Microscope at the Biological Science Imaging Resource (BSIR).
